KPJ Healthcare Ampang Puteri and Antabax Join Forces to Raise Awareness of Hand Hygiene
Brings Antabax Always Be Clean (ABC) for Health to preschoolers in Ampang to raise awareness on infection, prevention and control
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 80 percent of infectious disease is spread by touch. Young children need to be educated on hygiene to reduce their risk of spreading and contracting communicable diseases from coughs and colds , Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease and influenza among others.
KPJ Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital, and Antabax, the number one Halal antibacterial personal care range brand are joining forces to work on a campaign to increase the awareness of hand hygiene among preschoolers in the Ampang area.
Six preschools in Ampang with an estimated total of 600 students and parents will participate in a hands-on education workshop conducted by KPJ Ampang Puteri medical professionals, which focuses on the correct steps of hand washing and hand sanitizing. Antabax will be contributing its products including shower cream, hand soap, and hand sanitizer to the students and teachers.
“We believe that creating good health habits start at a young age. Our objective for this event is to create a culture among children and hope that what they learn today will be practiced throughout their lives. This is part of our community outreach program and we are proud that Antabax has been with in this journey, by providing their products.” says Dato Dr Abdul Wahab Abdul Ghani, Medical Director, KPJ Ampang Puteri.
“Antabax champions good hygiene for all through numerous creative hygiene campaigns. We find that it is best to plant the foundations of good hygiene from young, as children will take these habits with them into adulthood. The Antabax Always Be Clean (ABC) for Health, was developed to make the concept of hand hygiene easy for children, including why they and how they should wash their hands. We are glad to collaborate with KPJ Healthcare, and to have their trainers and nurses to educate the children on the correct techniques of handwashing,” says Ms Mandy Lee.
